Tirupati Urban Development Authority (TUDA) area is tha third largest with respect to geographical area and population in Andhra Pradesh State, next to CRDA Region and VUDA Region.TUDA has its jurisdiction of 1211.55 Sq.km (Out of which, 418.89 Sq.km, is covered by Reserved Forests),comprising Tirupati Municipal Corporation, Putttur, Srikalahasti Municipalities and 158 villages. TUDA Region is one of the strategically located region of the Chittoor District and Andhra Pradesh State. ItContrubutes significantly to the State and District economy in several respects, and is expected to play higher and incresing role in the coming decades, in achieving the targets set forth for the Region. This region is well connected to other parts of Indiaby road, rail & airways. National highways connecting Chennai, Benguluru and Amaravathi / Vijayawada and Hyderabad are passing Through the region.

Tirupati and Tirumala are well known nationally and internationally for its religious significance. Tirumala - led religious pilgrimage and tourism derviesthe economy of the place, as close to 30 million pilgrims / tourists visit this place annually. It is also known for regional significance for eduction, medical, and trade facilities. Further, Tirupati and its surrounding region within TUDA has high quality scenic environment offeres by hills, forests, vegetation cover,and heritage resources. These natural and cultural resources are assets for TUDA Area.
