The Tirupati Urban Development Authority (TUDA) was formed in the year 1983 and its jurisdiction is increasing from time to time. At present, the Tirupati Urban Development Authority is the 2nd largest in Andhra Pradesh with respect to the geographical area and population, next to VUDA Region. It has the jurisdiction of TUDA is 8,319.65 kms with 8 Urban Mandals i.e. Tirupati, Srikalahasti, Puttur, Nagari, Venkatagiri, Naidupeta, Sullurpeta, and cudur and 41 mandals of Tirupati and Chittoor District.

The TUDA region is one of the strategically located region of Chittoor District and Andhra Pradesh State. It contributes significantly to the District economy and as well as to the State’s economy in several aspects and is expected to play significant role in coming days.
This region is well connected with other parts of the country by road, rail and airways. The National Highways connecting Chennai, Bengaluru and Amaravati/ Vijayawada and Hyderabad are passing through this region. This region has world famous pilgrim centre at Tirumala-Tirupati and rich tourist and scenic places.
